The spirit of David’s
entrepreneurial diversification is the hallmark of Southpaw Studio.
His talents and gifts have taken him to many pinnacles of creative energy.
At age 11, as a taxidermist David modeled and sculpted the animals around
his rural home. Drawing from this knowledge was the seed that
began to grow into what today has been a wonderfully blessed career.
Bollman received his first
commissions in high school, painting his teachers pet portraits.
He later graduated from Center for Creative Studies and after 12 years
as an art director had gained enough knowledge and discipline to fulfill
his passion and lifelong dream to become a full time artist. For
over three decades David has designed, lettered and painted murals on
everything from semi-trucks to full-scale walls. He has designed
corporate logos, hand-carved signs, and created numerous unique sculptures
for such organizations as Pheasants Forever. He has been commissioned
by Ducks Unlimited, Waterfowl U.S.A., and Safari Club International
and many more to do special paintings and limited edition prints.
Bollman is the first and only artist to design and cast a bronze medallion
that depicts his award winning duck stamp design.

“I am a lover of life
and all it has to offer and this is why I enjoy painting so many things.
Surpassing all these achievements is the brightest light of my life,
Melissa, my daughter! I am thankful each day that I’m able to
work at my studio and realize through Melissa’s eyes that God’s
blessings never come to an end…they are new every morning and He is
so great and faithful. It is with great optimistic enthusiasm
that I view God’s Creations in nature and hope to reflect it in my
art and life.”
